Nicole Warne X Mulberry
This collaboration is so cute and playful. The Mulberry bag is pastel yellow, so the theme is fresh and the styling is also in the yellow tone. I like the fact that the proportion of surrounding compare to the model is distorted. It's like looking at a tiny person exploring the world. The sky, the book, oranges, and flowers are what I'd considered normal in the daily life context. However, when the model size shrinks, these everyday items seem to become foreign environment. The story line of this collaboration is really lighthearted and focus mostly on the visual rather than linking the story between each image. This is a good thing because one image can be separated from the rest and still makes sense as a fantasy editorial. I know how important is it to have some sort of a story behind every outcome I make, but I also have to consider a story that can be told through an image, not as a series of image, for the viewer to understand the whole concept. If one image doesn't make much sense, I'm pretty sure the viewer wouldn't even want to flip the page or continue looking at my work, as there's no point looking at things that doesn't make sense to them.
